Yay!!
lol I hadn't actually planned on finishing this last night but then I was having my dad edit a scene from my story and he was taking eternity because he kept stopping to ask questions and I was just sitting there painting and suddenly realized I was done...
Anyway, I'm rather proud of how it turned out all in all -- there were times where I thought I'd somehow gotten the face outline all wrong but once I got to coloring it I was relieved!
The toughest part was definitely the beard (the "fabulous facial hair" as my cousin called it on Facebook )
... it is pretty fabulous though
Anyway, I started out painting a solid grayish skin color under it and then using the confetti brush on top, and that was pretty much a disaster. So then I tried just using the confetti brush over the blue background. That was also a disaster. Finally I painted a real light layer of skin color on, just enough to cover up the blue, and then just used the pencil tool to make a million little marks and I continued like that until it was done. It took awhile, but all in all I think it worked best, and the finished product looks pretty good
The coloring on his far shoulder turned out kinda funky just because it was obscured by the advertisement on the reference photo so I couldn't really see what color it was supposed to be. So I just picked a random one that sorta looked right and I think it turned out okay.
For some reason my favorite part is the area around his collar below his chin... while I was working on that part I thought I'd gotten it all wrong but once I zoomed back out and looked at it in full view I really liked how it looked
Seneca Crane is portrayed by Wes Bentley.
